Marouane Chamakh's agent rules out Arsenal striker rejoining Girondins de Bordeaux next summer
The Moroccan admitted over the weekend that he would dearly love to return to the Stade Chaban-Delmas, but his representative insists the player will not be going back to France
Marouane Chamakh’s agent has dismissed the possibility of the out-of-favour Arsenal forward rejoining Girondins de Bordeaux at the end of the season.
The Moroccan striker has found first-team opportunities difficult to come by this season at the Emirates and admitted during an interview with TF1's 'Telefoot' over the weekend that he would be open to a return to the Stade Chaban-Delmas.
However, the player’s representative, Pierre Frelot, claims that while Chamakh is likely to quit the Gunners next summer, he will not be moving back to France.
"His short-term goal is the African Cup of Nations with Morocco, and then to finish the season at Arsenal,” the agent told Sud-Ouest.
“Then there will be an important choice to make, but he does not intend to return to France.”
Chamakh joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Bordeaux last summer, but despite making a positive start to life in north London, his form dipped dramatically during the second half of the season and he has been playing a bit-part role ever since. - http://www.goal.com
