Chelsea Fans Threaten To Continue Dissent against Benitez

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Chelsea interim manager Rafael Benitez can expect more jeers from the home crowd as fans firmly stated that they would continue to show antagonism to the Spaniard.

Rafa, the man who led Liverpool to win w1th ease in matches during his 2004-2010 reign at the club, has figured in previous bitter situations against Chelsea, including an incident in which he accused ex-Blues striker Didier Drogba of diving. The impending departures of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole – both being fan favourites, have reportedly increased the tension.

Trizia Fiorellino, chairperson of the Chelsea Supporters’ Group, stated on behalf of the fans that they did not want Rafa to become Roberto di Matteo’s replacement, nor have the Italian replaced in the first place.

Mitsubishi Mirage Collision: Chelsea, Manchester City, Scoreless in Super Sunday

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – The Stamford Bridge clash between Champions League winners Chelsea and Premier League champions Manchester City on Sunday failed to produce goals from either side.

The 0-0 draw did not reflect lack of attacking sharpness, with both sides exhibiting great control in defence. New Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez stood for his side amidst an unwelcoming home crowd, as he marked his first game for the side with a clean sheet.

Sergio Aguero went close to leading City to win w1th ease, with a half-time effort assisted by Edin Dzeko landing on keeper Petr Cech’s save. Fernando Torres, formerly under Benitez’ Liverpool, made no instant rebirth of his old form – a shot over the bar being his closest chance.

Like a Dismaying UPSR Result 2012: Di Matteo Fired As Chelsea Manager

THE LATEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE NEWS – Roberto Di Matteo made his exit from his duties as Chelsea manager following poor recent performances that caught the ire of owner Roman Abramovich.

Di Matteo’s Chelsea won the Champions League and FA Cup trophies last season. He took over from Andre Villas-Boas in March 2012, spending eight months in the position. Since then, he led the club to win w1th ease in several matches.

The Blues’ recent decline in form, including a 3-0 loss to Juventus that could cost them their qualification chances, prompted Abramovich to end Di Matteo’s stint in the club. The club appointed former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez as interim manager.
