Doncaster Rovers v Leeds United: Whites monitor Snodgrass progress
Leeds United were continuing to monitor Robert Snodgrass’ condition today with the winger battling to be fit for Friday night’s game at Doncaster Rovers.Snodgrass is a doubt for United’s visit to the Keepmoat Stadium after aggravating an ankle injury in training with Scotland last week. The problem forced him to withdraw from Scotland’s squad and miss both Saturday’s European qualifier against Liechtenstein and tomorrow’s clash with Spain but Leeds are hopeful that he will recover in time to feature against an improving Doncaster side.Rovers have struggled near the foot of the Championship table this season and sacked former manager Sean O’Driscoll last month, replacing him with Dean Saunders.
The change brought an immediate improvement in Doncaster’s results, with the club taking seven points from Saunders’ three games in charge, and Leeds will meet a team in form when they travel to South Yorkshire for a televised fixture.Snodgrass has himself shown signs of a return to top form in Leeds’ recent matches but he suffered a minor injury in last weekend’s win over Portsmouth and withdrew from Scotland’s squad after failing to shake off the problem.
