Everton accept €2.5m offer from Fenerbahçe for Joseph Yobo

Fenerbahçe have completed the transfer of Everton centre-back Joseph Yobo.

Everton have accepted the Istanbul club's €2.5 million offer following a lengthy negotiation process which dragged on over several weeks.

The Istanbul club had been unwilling to meet Everton's €3-4 million valuation of the Nigerian international and were at a deadlock with The Toffees.

Everton are reported to have agreed to lower price to bankroll a move for transfer target Steven Pienaar.

Toffees manager David Moyes has deemed Yobo surplus to requirements at Goodison Park and has been keen to offload the experienced defender.

The Nigerian International has been on loan with the Istanbul giants for the past two seasons and cemented himself as a first team regular.

Yobo has settled into life in Turkey and recently told reporters in Istanbul, "I am very happy in Turkey and at Fenerbahçe as is my family.

"I feel at home here, hopefully an agreement will be reached and I can continue playing at the club," he said.

The 31-year-old centre-back featured in 42 games last season and played an integral role in the Canaries finishing runners-up despite their turbulent year.

Yobo is expected to join Fenerbahçe in Austria for pre-season training.
